Job Vacancy – Accounts & Admin Assistant

We are recruiting!

  • Part-time, Permanent
  • £8.50–£9.00/ hour

We are a small, busy Lancaster book publishing company looking for a capable and adaptable person to help with daily accounting duties and general admin. The role is part-time (up to 15 hours a week) and flexible, and would particularly suit a retired book keeper/administrator, or someone looking to fit work around school days.

Essential skills are an excellent working knowledge of Sage, experience of invoicing and general book keeping, a good standard of English and total trustworthiness. Experience of Word and Excel will be a strong advantage, and you must be able to work quickly and efficiently on computers.

Duties will include:

  • Invoicing
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Posting of credit card statements
  • Posting of bank accounts
  • Answering the phone (we all share this!)
  • General office admin duties, relating to publishing

Publishing is a really interesting and rewarding industry to work in, but it is a relatively unusual one, so training in the specifics of the business as they relate to the accounts will be given.
